From August 9 to 10, Li Xiaopeng held talks with the Director of the Pakistan Maritime Bureau, Baccarat, the Minister of Public Works, Aro Semena, the Minister of State for Canal Affairs, Roy, and the Director of the Canal Authority, Kihano. Roy and Kihano spoke highly of China's contribution to the canal development as the second largest user of the Panama Canal. As the head of the Pakistani railway and rail transit industry, Roy also hopes that Chinese companies will actively participate in the proposed railway and subway projects. Chinese enterprises undertake multiple projects in the Panama Canal


During the stay in Pakistan, Li Xiaopeng also went to the site of the Amador Cruise Terminal and the Cologne PCCP Container Terminal project under construction by Chinese companies. It is reported that the Amadeor Cruise Terminal project is a landmark project for the use of geographical advantages and deep exploration of tourism potential. It is also the first important government project undertaken by Chinese enterprises after the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.


The Cologne PCCP Container Terminal project is located on Margaret Island on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal. It is the world's first container terminal designed and built in accordance with the new Panama Canal locks. The total investment of the project is estimated to be approximately US$1 billion. The project is currently the largest investment project of Chinese companies in Pakistan. After the port is completed, it will have four dedicated berths for the Super Panamanian container ship, which will become the largest port in Panama and Latin America, and the only port in Panama that can dock the Super Panamanian container ship.
